We are really excited about the prototype hops trellis that has been installed in partnership with Batch Brewing. Stop by their patio and enjoy outdoor seating under the shade of hops growing on the trellis.

GET ARRANGED!
We appreciated everyone who stopped by to say hi to the Ribbon Farm Hops crew at Pony Ride at the Makers Marketing in July and to see a selection of our most recent hops inspired products -- NEW! decorative arrangements. Follow us on Facebook for our future in person events or contact us for more details. (Photo by Encore Designs.)

THANKS TO MOTOR CITY BREWING

Ribbon Farm Hops is an independent, Detroit‐based agricultural and retail business that serves the rapidly expanding craft‐beer and homebrewing communities by growing and selling a variety of locally produced hops.

We work with local brewers to grow varieties that meet their ingredient demands for locally‐sourced beer. In addition, we are here to serve homebrewers who are interested in growing their own small plot of hops with our innovative hop‐growing trellis equipment suited to small‐scale, intensive cultivation. Our sturdy metal trellis systems are designed to withstand the weight of mature hop plants and are manufactured in Detroit!

Susan McCabe, our head farmer and inspiration behind Ribbon Farm Hops is available to speak to groups about the History of Hops in America and Growing Hops. She has previously spoken to garden clubs, the Rotary, historical groups and at national conferences.

She is a board member of the SE Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and serves on the Hop Growers of Michigan grand committee to establish food safety standards for growing and processing hops.

We are excited to have put down roots for our office space at the fabulous Green Garage...right here in Detroit. You can find us (or send snail mail to us) at 4444 Second Ave., Detroit, MI 48201.

We Believe a Great Idea Can Make a Business Grow!

HOP ALONG, TOO

Buying high‐quality, locally‐grown hops is a great way to add local panache to a final home-brew or micro-brew product. Be sure to watch for Ribbon Farm Hops products, packaged in creative, vapor‐barrier bags that better preserve the hops’
freshness.
We will have other exciting hops related products available, too, so be sure to check back frequently and plan to hop along, too!

DETROIT IS HOPPING!

We have chosen to locate our hop farm in Detroit, joining the urban agriculture movement in this country and seeking to rehabilitate a part of the city. The 2012 Detroit Strategic Framework Plan envisions a future city that will be a mix of residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural areas, linking employment districts and creating partnerships between industries and the landscape. Ribbon Farm Hops fits this vision for the future city.
